Sammanfattning

This bachelor thesis examines the feasibility and benefits of biogas production within Ukraine’s agricultural sector. The thesis focuses on developing a financial model to assess the investment viability of biogas projects, using key financial metrics to evaluate the profitability of various scales of biogas plants. A sensitivity analysis was conducted to demonstrate the robustness of the investment under varying economic conditions, highlighting the potential for returns in different scenarios. The results indicate that small-scale agricultural biogas plants are prohibitively expensive, mainly due to high investment costs. The thesis concludes that while biogas production presents a potential solution for sustainable energy in Ukraine, scalability and integration into the agricultural sector face significant financial challenges. Future work should focus on reducing costs, fostering collaboration programs, advancing biogas production technology, and establishing supportive policy frameworks to expand biogas infrastructure. This study provides a foundational model for further research and development in renewable energy solutions, aligning with global sustainability goals.
