This paper examines personal accounts of living with allergies. By interviewing adults with childhood experience of allergy summer camps and by writing an autoethnographic journal I analyze how these summer camps can exhibit a way to make everyday life of the allergic individuals easier. An allergy may affect a person's lifestyle in many ways and you encounter a lot of difficult experiences in life, you might not be able to take part in the same activities as your peers. What happens to commensality when the food you eat is visibly different from the others? First, I look at everyday life by discussing the visibility of the illness, how it affects social life and how to navigate different scenarios. Second, I discuss the same aspects but at summer camp. Can these experiences create a community or identity for the participants?
