Automatisation of data analysis for a production line at Scania

This study is on how computer applications can be used to automate data analysis of machine flow lines at Scania. The machines in the production line generate a large amount of alarms, too many to consistently, manually analyse. To enable analysis and improvement of the system, the data analysis should be automated by a computer. In this study an attempt to implement such a program was done. Some different implementations were explored and a partially functioning prototype application was built using python, Qt, SQL Express, and other python libraries. The application mostly functions as it should but is quite susceptible to errors caused by SQL Express. The conclusion was therefore drawn that the prototype was only a partial success and it should by looked into how SQL Express’s integration in the application can be improved or replaced.
