Sammanfattning

Modern digital systems often demand high reliability, making software testing a criticalyet often complex area. Often, the GUIs of the systems are only tested manually inthe final stages of the developmentprocess, a process that leads to slow feedback anddifficulties in systematically evaluating test results over time. This is the case at theclient, BAE Systems Bofors. Therefore, this thesis investigates how automatic GUI-testing can be implemented into a previously manual testing process to improve per-formance, quality and traceability. The objective is to develop a framework capable oftesting a system within a virtual environment and continuously log operations for easierfollow-up. Utilizing an agile methodology, a Python-based test framework was develo-ped, employing the SikuliX tool for visual image recognition and interface navigationwithin a virtualized Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment. The tests were designed inaccordance with IT-security requirements from MUST:s framework KSF. The resultsdemonstrate that the developed framework successfully automates functions such asnetwork verification, login procedures, and interface interactions with high modularityand strong traceability through detailed logging. The integration provides a robust andrepeatable foundation for continued test automation at the company.
