Carbon Capture and Storage is important for climate mitigation, but projects are costly and site-specific. The need for making simulations for each new potential site is therefore high. Available resources like Aspen are accurate but expensive and time consuming, opening a niche for simpler calculation tools for early screening. The objective of this project is to develop a fast, Excel-based tool for estimating power and cooling demands during CO2 liquefaction and purification after capture. The produced model covers compressions, cooling, drying and CO2 stripping, while assisting calculations with CoolProp for thermophysical properties. The model was verified against an Aspen simulation and shown to agree within a few percent. The produced tool can therefore serve as a first estimate before committing to a full scale simulation.
