Conspirituality, psykologiskt välbeffinande och Unikhet i Sverige : En explorativ faktor- och korrelationsanalys

Abstract Two seemingly different ideologies have appeared and unified as one in today´s society. These two ideologies are New Age-spirituality and conspiracy belief, the combination of which has been named Conspiritality. The present study explored the phenomenon of conspirituality, with the aim to investigate whether it functions as a single unified psychological construct and its potential correlations with meaning in life, personal growth and the need for uniqueness, in a Swedish context. The method used was quantitave cross-sectional design with an online survey that was answered by 244 Swedish-speaking adults. The recruitment method was a convenience/snowball sample. The dependent valuableconspirituality was composed by combining the responses to three surveys that measured New Age-spirituality, conspiracy mentality and spiritual conspiracies. To measure the independent variables, Swedish versions of English-validated surveys were used. The results showed that conspirituality was divided into a four-factor solution. The results did not show a significant correlation between conspirituality and meaning in life nor need for uniqueness. The results showed a significant correlation between conspirituality and personal growth, but suffers from methodological flaws. Empirical data regarding conspirituality has been added in a Swedish context and future research could be beneficial. Conspirituality seems to be a multidimensional and could exist in Sweden.
