Sammanfattning

This study examines the impact of social media on adolescents’ mental health and the role of teachers in supporting students’ well-being. A literature review was conducted using the databases EBSCO and Swepub as we focused on studies published from 2021 onwards. The findings show that social media significantly affects adolescents’ mental health , such as increased levels of depression, anxiety, sleep deprivation and a decline in academic performance. The reviewed studies also highlighted effective strategies for teachers such as creating a safe classroom environment, building strong relationship between the teacher and student, and increasing teachers mental health awareness.
