Sammanfattning

An autoclave is an advanced machine that sterilizes objects by exposing them tosaturated steam under high pressure and temperature. Autoclaves are essential inhealthcare, laboratories, and environments requiring strict sterility. Malfunctionsor deviations in the process can seriously affect patient safety and product quality. This thesis aimed to develop and validate a new diagnostic test program forLancer Lss autoclaves. The test program ensures that all components and sensorsfunction correctly and that the autoclave meets safety and sterilization performance requirements. The project began with a detailed requirement analysis and technical study tounderstand how test programs are structured. The new test program was createdusing sequential control, where phases and functions follow defined conditionsand control parameters. It starts with safety checks and leak testing, followed byvacuum generation, steam supply, exposure at sterilizing temperature, and finalcooling and drying. Real-world test runs were performed, and collected data confirmed that each step met the necessary acceptance criteria. The results showed significant improvements in both efficiency and sustainability. Test time was reduced by around 65%, energy consumption decreased by75%, and water consumption dropped by approximately 10% compared to theprevious program. The test program was validated against standards such as SSEN 285:2015+A1:2021 [1] and ISO 17665-1 [2], demonstrating stability. In summary, the thesis successfully delivered an optimized test program thatimproves productivity, reduces resource usage, and minimizes environmental impact.
