Sammanfattning
Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) are guidelines developed to ensure a safeand effective response to emergency situations in nuclear power plants. This reportpresents the work carried out during a five-and-a-half-month internship at Framatome in the DTIPRO unit, which is responsible for emergency procedures andthermal-hydraulic studies. The first objective was to further develop a simulation tool (OSCIA) used to test, derisk, and pre-validate early versions or modifications of EOPs. This tool was designedto be simple and easily accessible, serving as an alternative to a full-scope simulator. The second objective was to create a best-estimate transient CATHARE dataset fora Steam Generator Tube Rupture accident and to test the tool using this scenariowhile following the emergency operating procedures. The aim was to demonstratethat, even with a delayed initial operator action, the accident can be mitigated whilekeeping radioactive releases to the atmosphere within acceptable limits. The resultsshow that the OSCIA EOPs applications enables the reactor to be brought to a safestate, with radioactive releases remaining within prescribed limits. Furthermore, theOSCIA meets its intended objectives and proves to be an effective and user-friendlytool for simulating EOPs and pre-validating new strategies.
