Expanding the capabilities of the FRAME concept for Snapshot Multiparametric Imaging

A lot of research involves spectral or polarimetric imaging in applications such as medicine, material science, and molecular science. Spectral imaging allows the acquisition of multiple spectral bands of a scene, while polarimetric imaging enables the extraction of a scene's polarisation. Combining the two imaging techniques simultaneously is referred to as multiparametric imaging. Today, only one other method has been developed to simultaneously evaluate colour and polarisation in a single image. Using Frequency Recognition Algorithm for Multiple Exposures (FRAME), a snapshot technique developed at Lund University over the last decade, offers a versatile approach to snapshot multiparametric imaging. Separating the light through several marked optical paths enables encoding it into an image. Information about the parameters of light can then be obtained from a single image by analysing its frequency domain, which is computed via the Fourier transform of the original image. By double-modulating one path onto another, I were able to extract light with a specific colour and polarisation simultaneously. Extracted images show that this technique could be useful in the future for analysing colour and polarisation simultaneously.
