Sammanfattning
This study explores the perceptions, attitudes, and experiences of human therapists regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) therapy chatbots in mental health care, focusing on chatbots using CBT. Utilising an exploratory qualitative research design, involving semi-structured interviews with seven participants, all experienced in mental health care and CBT. Theoretical Frameworks including the Diffusion of Innovation theory, Fidelity, and the Global Social Work Ethical principles, were used to analyse the data while using Reflexive Thematic Analysis. Participants recognized the benefits of AI therapy chatbots, such as increased accessibility and consistent treatment, but raised concerns about ethical issues, the therapeutic relationship, and AI's ability to address complex emotional needs. The study highlights the need for further research on AI therapy's efficacy and ethical implications. Limitations include a small sample size and participants' limited AI knowledge. While promising, AI therapy's integration into mental health practice requires careful consideration of professional, ethical, and practical factors.
