The viking ship is one of the more recognisable artefacts from Scandinavia when it comes to history and archeology. Studies about the places they come from and their importance in our thinking about viking age culture have by all means been popularised. With that said, there has been over the last couple of decades a new approach to interpret the maritime landscape of the vikings. Modern reconstructions of viking age ships, which after completion aims to fulfill an expedition in the field of experimental archaeology and draw conclusions to better understand the waterways of the vikings.
