Irreguljär migration : Hur kan migration från Västafrika till EU förklaras utifrån ekonomiska faktorer?

This study examines about the economic factors that drive people from West Africa to migrate to the EU. The purpose of the study is to investigate the irregular migration from West Africa to Europe but with a focus on economic factors. Using three theories Neoclassical Economics: Macro and Micro-Theory and The New Economics of Migration to explain how the economic situation in West Africa affects irregular migration. In recent years, migration from West Africa to the EU has increased, and despite the dangerous journey, many continue to risk their lives for a better economic situation. To conduct the study, I use a qualitative case study approach. The results show that economic factors are an underlying factors of West Africans' migration to Europe, driven by high unemployment rates and the challenging economic situations many face.
