Sammanfattning
Between Kristianstad and Bromölla is Ivö, Skåne's largest island, which is currently unknown outside the region. On the northern tip of the island, a primary rock rises 134 meters above sea level, so-called Ivö Klack. The area is today a nature reserve, with a rich history of mythologies, croft remains, unique fossil finds, old beech forest, and industrial remains from when Iföverken, the ceramic industry, extracted their raw material on the island. Ivö Klack is an incredibly beautiful nature reserve that is unfortunately inaccessible to anyone who does not have a car and knowledge of the place beforehand. It was an interesting place for me to work with, as the issue of accessibility to nature is something I am interested in and it became my main topic in the project. In the report "National survey of the Swedish people's outdoor life) published by Naturvårdsverket (2018) my suspicions were confirmed that there is a large inequality about who has and does not have access to nature. Such differences may be due to whether you have a foreign background or not, cultural differences, economic, and if you have knowledge of how to act in nature. In this thesis I explore how you can strive to bridge this inequality with a design proposal. With my own experience of belonging to a group that has not been so much in nature during childhood, because I come from a foreign culture where outdoor life is not part of the culture, I contribute with my own perspective and draw a proposal based on memories, intuition experience of what it is like to discover the outdoors and nature. With this starting point, I have identified the importance of a welcoming and informative visitor center located in nature reserve and how important it is to have a safe starting point. I think it can be the difference for an inexperienced and insecure person to go out and take part in outdoor life or not. Bromölla is a mill town located next to Ivösjön that grew from the ceramics industry that was made possible by the kaolin deposits on Ivö Klack. Bromölla's identity and history have strong connections to Ivö. As a visitor and interested architecture student, I thought it would be natural that there would be a transportation boat that went between Bromölla and Ivö and that you could experience them together, but there is not. Apart from occasional annual guided boat trips, such a transport route does not currently exist. Ivö Klack and Bromölla have a common identity, history, and soul and in my thesis I propose a new boat bus that starts from Bromölla and arrives at Ivö Klack's new visitor center. This would make it possible to transport oneself to the nature reserve by public transport smoothly. In the degree project, I investigate how I can strengthen the experience and understanding of Ivö Klack by adding a boat route and the experience of experiencing the surroundings from the water. The boat bus enables a trip where you can experience and learn about Bromölla and Ivö Klack during a day trip. The thesis work also identifies and shapes a place to arrive with the boat, a boat dock, and a visitor center on Ivö Klack that welcomes visitors. A final addition in the form of an outdoor museum is made, with its own hiking trail and exhibition pavilions. The most important thing in the degree project is that the proposal will make Ivö Klack available to more people, create interest in the place and that it will help to tell about the place's history and existing values. The visitor's experience is in focus and the journey to and through the place must be clear and enriching.
