Sammanfattning

This essay seeks to unravel Virginia Woolf’s narrative in A Room of One’s Own and Mrs Dalloway with a starting point in feminist narratology. To clarify Woolf’s use of narrative voice and literary form the essay applies Susan S. Lansers theories on feminist narratology and narrative voice. In addition, Kathrine Mezeis contextualizing of feminist narratology, Hélène Cixous feminist writing and narratological concepts by Gerard Genette will also be utilized in the essay to showcase how Woolf uses voice and form in her narratives. It concludes that Woolf’s most common strategy is stream of consciousness and that her feminist narratives are impacted by her narrative voice and the literary form in which she writes.
