Aluminum alloy has become over the years a material to consider as a first choice in the context of manufacturing due to its favorable advantages, such as specific high strength, corrosion resistance and low density which makes it an ideal material and an excellent one when it comes to formability. It is particularly advantageous when manufacturing complex structure, as it facilitates the process. At Dover Fueling Solutions they strive for all their components to endure up to at least 100,000 load cycles, guaranteeing high durability and longevity. This study looks at one of the most common aluminum alloys which are widely used in the automotive industry. The objective of this work is to optimize the design of the hydraulic part of the dispenser made of the aluminum alloy, and the specific goal is to increase the fatigue life of the hydraulic part of the dispenser by enhancing the fatigue resistance. Four new optimized designs were evaluated. The results demonstrated that these new optimized geometrical designs may be regarded as improved alternatives, since they achieved a significantly enhanced fatigue life compared to the original hydraulic part of the dispenser. The new designs endured approximately 46 000 cycles whereas the original design endured around 22 000 cycles.
