Sammanfattning

This study investigated if radar sensors could be used to perform gait analysis which includes gait velocity, swing time and step asymmetry in a more natural environment like a corridor, gym, home environment or similar. All the while also trying to find out if the accuracy is high enough to make the parameters useful. To investigate, two different radars were used to try to get relevant forms of data to be able to make a gait analysis. In the end only one of these radars was used since it offered a simpler solution to get relevant data. The results showed that radar sensors can be used to measure gait velocity, swing time and step asymmetry from simulated tests of different situations with moderate accuracy. This indicates that radar sensors could be used for analysis of temporal gait variables, but this should be analyzed further on a larger data set.
