Reformulating the Cinephile : Analysis for a Preservation of Emotional Spectatorship

The definition of cinephilia has been fluctuating since the beginning of the filmic medium, and it shall continue to evolve in parallel with the substantial shifts in cinema in recent decades and in the surging progression of artificial intelligence integration with human society. What dilemmas arise amidst the existential challenges for cinema will require a reformulation of identity for cinephiles. Drawing upon insights from the foundational theories within a multidisciplinary research approach, a new emotional personification core can investigated and applied to contemporary cinephilia. With a reformulated and renewed cinephile characteristics, utilizing new technologies in empirical neurocinematics case studies, the cinephile's survival into a future can be hoped for, but while navigating amidst an unpredictable artificial intelligence societal landscape. This dissertation shall render perspectives into the aforementioned theories and seeks to contribute toward a reformulated cinephilia on the cusp of an existential metamorphosis.
