This master’s thesis explores the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) in professional services firms (PSFs) through an exploratory case study research approach. By examining an architecture firm and a management consulting firm, this study investigates how AI influences both organizational and operational dynamics within these sectors. The research reveals that AI significantly enhances workflow efficiency, augments professional capabilities, and transforms job roles, particularly at junior levels. However, it also highlights challenges related to generational resistance, ethical considerations, and the uncertainty surrounding AI integration. The findings contribute to a broader understanding of AI’s transformative impact on PSFs, offering strategic insights for navigating digital transformation in knowledge-intensive industries.
