Work-life balance : En kvantitativ studie om hur gränshantering och flexibla arbetsarrangemang påverkar fastighetsmäklares balans mellan arbete och privatliv.

Aim: The aim of this study is to establish an understanding of work-life balance among Swedish real estate agents regarding border management and flexible working arrangements. Method: This study is based on a quantitative research method with a deductive approach. A cross-sectional design has been applied and the empirical data has been collected via a questionnaire study. A questionnaire was sent out via email to the sample consisting of Swedish real estate agents in the cities of Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg. A total of 269 responses were received, which were then analyzed through the JASP statistics program. The analyzes performed were descriptive analysis and correlation analysis. Result & discussion: The results of the study show that real estate agents are satisfied with the overall balance between work and private life. On the other hand, they experience work-life conflict, which indicates that there is a certain imbalance and that their subjective perception regarding satisfaction of the balance can be questioned. Real estate agents integrate the two domains to a large extent and this integration has a negative effect on work-life balance. The study indicates that flexible working arrangements contribute to increased satisfaction with balance and at the same time reduce conflict. Contribution of the thesis: This study contributes to an increased understanding of work-life balance and of the border management and flexible working arrangements impact on the balance. The study adds new information about Swedish real estate agents' work-life balance and contributes to an awareness of factors that affect their balance. Suggestion for further research: Further research should examine work-life balance among real estate agents in other countries. Furthermore, the impact of different characteristics should be studied in relation to work-life balance and lastly further research should examine factors that result from conflict.
