Sammanfattning

This thesis studies the Positive Mass Theorem, a result concerning asymp-totically Euclidean manifolds and their corresponding ADM masses. These manifoldsare examined in detail, and it is explained how to systematically derive the notion ofADM mass for such a space. The Positive Mass Theorem is stated and proven using aGreen’s function argument. Finally, we study the closest analogue of the ADM massin the setting of asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds, and the difficulties of adaptingthe Green’s function proof to this setting are discussed.
