AI och matematikundervisning : En studie om matematiklärares syn på AI som en del i sin undervisning

In recent years, AI has gained a greater role in our society and opens a lot of new possibilities. This study is intended to explore these parts of AI but also mathematics teachers' attitudes to future AI and possible use in schools. The purpose of the studies is to get an insight into how mathematics teachers are attuned to AI and its growing influence on society may have when it comes to their mathematics teaching. The study hopes to highlight opportunities as well as challenges as teachers with AI and mathematics teaching. To answer the purpose, a questionnaire study has been carried out where 83 mathematics teachers around Sweden responded with their thoughts and opinions. The results show that the teachers range from very skeptical and not at all interested in having AI in their classroom to very positive and everything in between. The teachers see opportunities such as creating assignments or visual support for their teaching but are afraid to trust AI and that instead of helping, more work will come. The conclusions we can draw are that many people find AI exciting, but that it is a bit early to know if it is something that belongs in the classroom. Things like technical knowledge and keeping hardware and software up to date is something that teachers see as a big challenge.
