Sammanfattning

This study examines how young adults choice of residential location is shaped b individual preferences and prectical conditions for estabishment, using Vilhelmina municipality as a case study. The study is based on semistructured interviews with yong adults and municipal representatives, analyses through thematic analysis. The results show that young adults residential choices are shaped by a balace between opportunities and quality of life. While Vilhelmina is associated with nature, tranquility and community. The municiipality is also precived as limited in terms of education, employment, housing and accessibility. The findings reveal a gap between intreset in the place and the possibility of actually establshing oneself there. The study concludes the main challange is not only to attract young adults but to create practical conditions that make long-term establishment possible.
