Biblioterapi i svenskabiblioteksdiskurser : En begrepps- och diskursanalys med Deleuze och Guattari

Bibliotherapy has gained visibility in Swedish library contexts during the last decade, yetits meaning and legitimacy remains negotiated across professional arenas. This thesisexamines how bibliotherapy is articulated in Swedish library related texts and whatassumptions about literature, participants and the library’s social role are produced in thatdiscourse. Using qualitative discourse analytic approach, thirteen texts from Digiteket,Svensk Biblioteksförening and Biblioteksbladet (2017-2025) are analysed throughconcepts drawn from Deleuze and Guattari, including affect, assemblage and(de/re)territorialization. The analysis shows that bibliotherapy is constructed as a mobile,multi-sited concept oscillating between culture, health and democracy. It is legitimizedboth through affective, experiential narratives and through institutional strategies such asresearch references, education and quality assurance. Across the material bibliotherapyemerges less as a treatment and more as a relational, democratic practice of becoming.
