The construction sector faces increasing demands to reduce climate impact and resource consumption, particularly in renovation projects where existing building components represent significant reuse potential. Digital tools have been identified as key enablers for supporting reuse, yet their practical integration into design processes remains limited.This master’s thesis investigates how digital support for reuse can be achieved in renovation projects, with a particular focus on the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the reuse platform CCBuild in early design stages. The study is based on a qualitative case study of the RISE project at KTH Campus, combining literature review, document and platform analysis, interviews with key project actors, and a practical BIM-based demonstration.The results show that CCBuild provides a structured basis for documenting reuse-related data, including technical properties, condition assessments, and environmental indicators. However, this information is currently managed largely outside the BIM environment, resulting in fragmented workflows and limited use of reuse data in design decision-making. The conducted demonstration illustrates that reuse data from CCBuild can be transferred and visualized in BIM through semi-manual workflows, even in the absence of direct system integration.The study concludes that while the technical prerequisites for digital support of reuse already exist, further development is required to enable seamless integration between reuse platforms and BIM. Strengthening interoperability, clarifying roles and information responsibilities, and integrating reuse data earlier in the design process are identified as key steps toward more effective and scalable reuse practices in renovation projects.
