Sammanfattning

This study examines the relationship between individual behavioural traits, affective energy fluctuations, work intensity, and entrepreneurial risk-taking. The purpose of the study was to investigate how variations in behaviour and energy levels relate to entrepreneurs' work intensity, and how this in turn may influence risk-taking in uncertain situations. The study is based on a quantitative method with a deductive approach. Data was collected through an online survey directed toward entrepreneurs and former entrepreneurs. The collected material was analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis in the statistical program Jamovi. The results indicate that variations in energy levels and intensive work periods have the clearest connection to entrepreneurial risk-taking. Individual behavioural traits also showed certain relationships with work intensity, although several of the results were weak or only partially significant. The findings suggest that entrepreneurial risk-taking is influenced more by variations in work intensity over time rather than work intensity as a stable condition. The study contributes to a broader understanding of entrepreneurship by focusing on the individual behind the entrepreneur and how different ways of working may influence decision-making and risk-taking in practice.
