Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) on business decision-making by integrating insights from both scientific articles and company reports. The study aims to identify common themes between the sources and to conceptualize how the impact of GenAI on decision-making is described. Method: This study is based on an integrative literature review. A total of 40 academic articles and 7 company reports were collected, thematically categorized and analyzed to identify central dimensions in how GenAI’s impact on decision-making is portrayed. Conclusion: The study identifies four key thematic areas through which generative AI influences decision-making in companies: efficiency and decision support, strategic impact and organizational integration, trust and legitimacy, and human–AI collaboration. By integrating diverse sources, the study develops a conceptual model that captures the interplay between technological, organizational, and human factors in AI-supported decision-making.
