How are the Greek myths reinterpreted in Hades? : A case study of Hades

The research question this paper used for its analysis was “How are the Greek myths reinterpreted in Hades?” This study aims to answer the aforementioned question through three individual papers, each with their own focus on various aspects of the game. For this research formal analysis was used throughout each individual paper, with slight variations depending on the artifacts that are observed. By applying this methodology the paper concluded that through the usage of the protagonist's death and resurrection cycle as a progression tool, the game provides a continuation as well as reinterpretation of the myths such as the different layers of the underworld and Asterius and Theseus. The hope is for this paper to help further the research on how source material is reinterpreted within media.
