Sammanfattning

This thesis explores the long-term viability of integrating Boat-to-Grid (B2G) systems into electric marine vessels, considering technical reliability, environmental impact, and economic feasibility. Through degradation modeling, simulation-based analysis, lifecycle assessment, and financial modeling within the context of Göteborg, Sweden, this work offers a framework to understand how electric boats can contribute to grid flexibility while maintaining operational and financial sustainability. The study assesses the performance of Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters and Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverters, evaluates the degradation of Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminium (NCA) batteries under B2G cycling, and examines the economic potential of grid interaction, considering local energy and tax policies. The results highlight the importance of smart operational strategies and power management to ensure the economic and environmental benefits of B2G systems in electric boats.
