Sammanfattning

The factors identified in the empirical findings, and their enabling and constraining nature can be understood as exploitative or exploratory logics that drive AI-implementation toward either exploration or exploitation. The findings suggest that exploration and exploitation are intertwined rather than separate and opposing activities. Exploitative logics are present through the explorative work, shaping what is searched for, what is deemed valuable, and under what conditions experimentation is allowed. What matters is not that these logics coexist, but how and when they intervene, which can be understood as shaped by the surrounding organizational factors.
