Sammanfattning

Leaning on feminist abolitionist theory and Transformative Justice practice(s) this thesis seeks to contribute to practical knowledge on how to solve conflict and violence in communities, without the use of carceral logics, state punishment and police. Laying ground for the purpose of the thesis, I bring up central theory on carcerality, abolition and feminism to show the contested relationship between sexual and gender based violence, state punishment and abolition that the thesis is situated in. Further, through semi-structured interviews with Copenhagen based activist groups that work with community-based solutions to handling conflict and structural violence, we show how, through accountability, willingness and care, it can be possible to deal with conflict and violence in communities, including sexual and gender based violence. I argue that through a practical understanding of interpersonal violence as structural we can create new terrains of justice that transform the very structures we seek to destroy and build the world we want to live in, without prisons and without gendered violence.
