Sammanfattning

Upcoming GSR2 regulations mandate front license plates on all new Koenigsegg cars by summer 2026. This presents a major engineering challenge for high-performance hypercars. This thesis details the conceptualization, development, and validation of front license plate mounting assemblies for three Koenigsegg hypercar platforms: the CC850, the Sadair's Spear, and Car No.3. The designs had to withstand aerodynamic loads at speeds up to 500 km/h, utilize lightweight carbon fiber and metals, maintain the brand's aesthetic DNA, avoid obstructing sensors and cameras, be homologation compliant, and be optimized for manufacturing. The project applied a spiral product development methodology. Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling was combined with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural integrity. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) assessed aerodynamic and cooling impacts, while Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles guided the iterative design process. The project gave three unique, dismountable carbon fiber solutions tailored to each vehicle that meet global homologation requirements. Simulations validated their high-speed structural endurance. However, CFD analysis indicated a significant reduction in static pressure and mass flow distribution across the central radiator inlet when equipped with the EU backplate. In conclusion, the project successfully delivered globally adaptable, legally compliant concepts that balance extreme performance with strict regulations.
