Sammanfattning

This thesis investigates the potential of a digital system to facilitate the accurate identification and retrieval of construction materials from shared storage containers. The study specifically addresses usability during the collection workflow via structured data presentation, QR-based verification, spatial navigation, and Bluetooth-enabledinteractions. To evaluate this approach, a frontend prototype was developed and assessed with scenario-based usability testing with five participants. The evaluation examined how the prototype supported users in locating containers, material verification, and completing the pickup process. The results indicate that the prototype supported material identification and suggested potential for a structured interaction model under the tested conditions. All participants successfully completed the assigned retrieval tasks, indicating that the designed interaction flow appeared to guide users intuitively under the tested conditions. Although the evaluation is limited to a prototype tested in a controlled setting, the findings should be interpreted as preliminary. Further testing in real construction environments is needed to validate the system under realistic conditions.
