Sammanfattning

Before a product is created and released on the market, virtual prototyping is often used to optimize the product. However, to create an optimized and safe product, the process relies heavily on correct data, especially within the field of medical technology. One of these metrics is how light reflects and transmits through the material, called the material light-scattering property. While there are optical measurement tools and optic laboratories that can retrieve these material properties, their expense and reliance on specialized facilities pose barriers. This study aims to identify and calibrate a suitable detector for light scattering measurements, assess its data collection capabilities, and develop calibration algorithms to enhance accuracy. The study successfully identified the necessary detector specifications and selected an appropriate detector. Additionally, two critical issues for data collection were pinpointed, leading to the creation of calibration algorithms to address these challenges. By enabling users to retrieve material light scattering properties independently, this research contributes to an easier product development process, ultimately enhancing patient care and medical innovation on a broader scale.
