Sammanfattning

The purpose of this thesis was to develop a specialized handheld milling tool for more efficient routing during installation of gutter brackets in roofing applications. The project was initiated because existing handheld routers are not optimized for this specific task. Resulting in limited precision and time-consuming work.The project was carried out using an iterative product development process consisting of pre-study, concept development, CAD-modeling, and dimensioning calculations. Several concepts were developed and evaluated with a focus on cutter design, bearing placement, ergonomics, and safety protections.The result was a compact handheld router with replaceable cutter heads, adjustable cutting depth, and an integrated safety guard. Calculations showed that the construction withstands the dimensioning loads and that the selected bearings meet the required strength and service life requirements. The tool enables more controlled machining and reduced material removal compared to existing solutions. Practical estimation also indicated the potential to reduce the working time by approximately one minute per gutter bracket.
