Transfer of Green Policies from European Union to its Member States

The environmental degradation and climate change are among the most threatening issues to the humanity of 21st century. EU is among the most capable actors on the stage of international politics to tackle these issues effectively. The most important initiative from EU green policy framework is the European Green Deal as it includes the most ambitious goals and robust systems for implementation and monitoring. Policies from EGD however have some issues with implementation in EU member states and academic studies showed numerous times that rural areas face many hinderances with implementation. To fill in the research gap of successful EU green policy implementation this work studies EU policy documents with qualitative content analysis methodology while utilizing theories form the field of policy transfer and urban studies. The findings from EU policy documents show solid green policy transfer framework.
