The manufacturing industry today faces significant competition and varying customer demands. Therefore, organizations need to operate efficiently, ensure high quality, and be able to adapt quickly. Lean, together with visual management, are methods known for creating clearer processes, improving communication, and enabling reactive deviation handling. Despite well-established theories, previous research shows that organizations still face challenges where daily management does not work effectively in practice. The purpose of this study was to examine how production and deviations are documented and followed up, as well as how this was perceived by users of the process board, on a production line within the manufacturing industry. Furthermore, the aim was to develop and test a new process board with hourly follow up together with a deviation list in order to improve daily management while also promoting participation and engagement. To answer the research questions and fulfill the purpose, a case study was conducted on one of Xylem´s production lines, a company within water technology. The study began with a current state analysis, which formed the basis for the implementation of a new process board. In addition, an evaluation of the new process board was conducted, which forms the basis for the results, discussion, and potential future studies. The results of the study show that the new process board had several positive effects, although certain shortcomings remained in both its design and application.
