Sammanfattning

This study is asking what the relationship between exposure to diversity and different measures of outgroup trust and attitudes is and is this relationship consistent across different measures. Based on the ‘Diversity and Inclusion Survey’ set within the context of Malmö, the study can highlight 4 different aspects of outgroup attitudes and trust. 2 different hypotheses are formulated: high frequency of exposure to racial and ethnic diversity is positively related to different measures of outgroup trust and attitudes (H1) and the result of the relationship between frequency of exposure to racial and ethnic diversity and different measures of outgroup trust and attitudes stay consistent across different groups (H2). H1 is confirmed but the analysis also shows that exposure alone cannot explain a positive relationship. H2 is rejected and shows that different measures of attitudes and outgroup trust matter differently for different groups notably based on political leaning or immigration background.
