This essay examines how ecocriticism can highlight the imagery of Collins and Higson in two teen noir novels. With the ecocritical I search for life-giving and death-giving forces in the two books; The Hunger Games by Susanne Collins and The Enemy, They’re closer than you think by Charlie Higson. My goal is to see how the authors use their imagery to build their dystopias in the novels and their image of the present and the criticism of future environmental disaster and human suffering. My focus in analysing this novels is to look how nature can be seen as perpetrator, beloved mother and victim. In my material I can see how the authors single out the adults as guilty of the causes of the event in the novels. Using the ecocritical method, the analysis discussed Collins and Higsons texts in these works and found how they`rs imagery paints a picture of a dark world without hope but how the youngsters try to survive and change the world to a better place. A world that the adults destroyed.
