Användning av AI som studieverktyg : – En kvalitativ studie om hur högskolestudenter upplever AI som studieverktyg

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is advancing across various fields, including education, where its role within educational institutions is the subject of extensive debate. AI's capabilities have the potential to drive innovation in education, enhancing human intelligence and opening doors to new learning experiences. However, previous research has primarily focused on AI's technical aspects within education, with a notable lack of insight into how students experience and integrate the technology in practice. This study aims to explore how students perceive the use of AI as a tool in their studies, identifying challenges and opportunities that should be considered in future technology development and design within education. The research is based on a review of literature and a qualitative survey involving semi-structured interviews. The empirical data revealed four themes: Efficiency and time saving with AI tools, AI as support in learning and writing, Levels of awareness and Impact on study habits and learning styles. Results suggest that while AI tools can enhance efficiency and provide significant support in academic tasks, they also present challenges related to over-reliance and trust. This dual influence calls for balanced integration of AI in educational settings to harness its benefits while mitigating potential drawbacks.
