Att arbeta språkutvecklande med flerspråkiga barn. : En intervjustudie om pedagogers relation till rim och ramsor.

Sammanfattning

This study aims to highlight educators´ approach towards language development methods for children with a mother tongue other than Swedish and multilingual children. Upon request, eleven educators´ with six to twenty-five years of work experience in preschool activities volunteered to be a part of thestudy. In this qualitative method, we did semi-structured interviews to gatherempirical material. The interviews were recorded and conducted by telephone,mail and in-person visits at the educators´ workplaces, and they all had different opinions about which methods they considered the best. Some educatorsexpressed that rhyme and rhymes are an effective method, while others considered books to be a better option, as they sensed it interested children more.When evaluating the results from this study, it became clear that the interactionbetween educator and child contributed to fun-filled and meaningful learning.One conclusion is that the educator´s attitude plays a crucial role in how involved and interested children are in the language development activities.
