The purpose of this study is to examine individuals with social and work connections to Tumba bruk relate to the industrial heritage environment in Tumba and its transformations during the 21st century. The study is based on interviews with eight individuals connected to Tumba Bruk. By analyzing their narratives, I aim to understand which aspects of the place are emphasized, what emotions and values are associated with it, and how the transformation of the site, from a closed, work-centered environment to a heritage-listed area, affects their experience of the place and its significance. Using concepts such as place, collective memory, and nostalgia, the study highlights how storytelling becomes a way to cope with change and create meaning.
