Sammanfattning

In the construction industry, many design calculations are still done manually, even for temporary solutions such as temporary structures during concrete pouring. This also applies to Skanska Väg och Anläggning in Halland, where the need for a fast and reliable calculation tool has been identified. Incorrect design can lead to both safety risks and increased costs. In this work, a digital decision support has been developed in the form of an Excel-based tool to easily calculate temporary structures. The tool is based on Eurocode applied calculations and aims to be used directly by production personnel. A test has also been carried out where production personnel from Skanska tested the tool in real scenarios and then evaluated it through a questionnaire. The purpose of the work is to investigate to what extent a decision support can replace the role of the constructor in simpler design cases, and to identify where the line is drawn between the responsibility of production and the constructor. The result of the study shows that the tool is user-friendly and effective in simpler cases, but complex situations still require a constructor. The developed toll is limited to a so-called” typical case”; it must have simple geometry, evenly distributed load and 2-6 supports with even spacing. The tool is valuable in early stages, for example for material reuse, but does not replace the constructor’s expertise and responsibility where the safety risk is high.
