Sammanfattning

Carpark Reimagined: An Adaptive Urban Typology for Warsaw’s Mobility Network addresses Poland’s high motorization rate by developing a typological framework to rethink standard Park and Ride infrastructure. The project begins by transforming these single-use, static facilities into resilient, multimodal mobility hubs to prevent the creation of urban dead zones. This systemic strategy is then applied to a specific site at the Bródno M2 metro terminus. At this location, the design integrates heavy commuter transit with a permeable civic plaza, active public interfaces, and a productive roof. Addressing the local concrete waste crisis, the project introduces the concept of Circular Tectonics. The design extracts a structural core from a nearby office building slated for demolition, combining this salvaged concrete grid with new engineered timber elements to construct a highly flexible skeleton. Operating continuously across daily cycles, the hub maintains social activation around the clock. Guided by a Future-Proof Framework, this robust structure is engineered to seamlessly transition into housing or commercial programs as private car dependency declines, ensuring long-term urban resilience and halting the cycle of premature demolition.
