En morfologisk jämförelse av singelkronor mellan 3Shape Automate och manuell digital design : En in vitro-studie

Purpose The purpose of the present in vitro study was to evaluate and compare the aesthetic and anatomical design of single crowns created either by 3Shape Automate, an artificial intelligence program developed by 3Shape, or by dental technicians, through a blinded assessment test. Materials and Methods A blinded evaluation test was conducted on 10 single crowns with four different design versions: 3Shape Automate, two dental technician students, and one dental technician from 3Shape. A total of 12 participants acted as evaluators and took part in the study. They were divided into four groups: one dentist group, one dental technician student group, two dental student groups. Each participant assessed each crown design using six criteria on a scale of 1-5. The data was analyzed using Mann-Whitney U-test and Kruskal-Wallis-test. Results Statistical differences could be seen between the dental technician and Automate, where the technician was graded higher, based on the following criteria: Buccal/Facial, Palatal/Lingual, Symmetry, and Cementability. Conclusion Within the limitations of the present study, following conclusions can be drawn: Posterior single crowns designed by 3Shape Automate are considered to have comparable aesthetics and anatomy to those created by a dental technician, while anterior single crowns are not deemed to have the same aesthetic and anatomical quality. There is a noticeable difference between 3Shape Automate and the 3Shape dental technician, the technician receiving higher scores in a blind evaluation test for the criteria Buccal/Facial, Palatal/Lingual, Symmetry, and Cementability.
