Regnbågsnyckeln (The Key of the Rainbow) is a programme where congregations in Sweden get educated in LGBTQ+ issues and inclusion. The programme ends with the formulation of a diversity plan that states how the congregation aims to work with these issues. This dissertation aims to study what kind of theology is represented in the diversity plans. By decoding the diversity plans and analysing the reoccurring themes by applying policy enactment theory, queer theory and queer theology several points could be made. The diversity plans shows that the following aspect are reoccurring: - The use of inclusive language, images and symbols.- A relational anthropology where God and mankind are connected via Creation. Therefore, man has an inherent value.- The Bible is used rhetorically and there is seldom any hermeneutical room for interpretation.- Diversity is seen as enriching and there is a tendency to broaden the diversity concept to include more than LGBTQ+ issues.- An understanding that the diversity issue requires continuous norm critical work, education and public presence.Regnbågsnyckeln unlocks paths to queer theology and church practices. It also unlocks paths of continuous critical reflection regarding how this theology should be formed and developed in concrete contexts.
