Sammanfattning

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools have extensively evolved and currently become one of the latest trends in the recruitment industry. A range of AI tools, such as digital interviews and gamification, have been globally adopted to assess candidate attributes. In turn, employment of such tools assist recruiting firms in increasing efficiency, tackling biases and addressing diversity challenges. However, caution regarding algorithmic bias and data errors still pertains. Through an abductive qualitative study, this paper aims to explore HR recruiters' perceptions and expectations regarding the impact of integrating AI-enabled assessment tools in the recruitment process. The study aims to investigate the novel practice of utilizing AI in the candidate assessment stage of the recruitment process, further adding to the limited existing research on recruiter's perceptions and intention towards AI in recruitment. The results indicate an early maturity stage for AI-enabled assessment tools, further enhanced by the increased skepticism amongst HR recruiters regarding the intention to adopt the tools for assessment. HR recruiters expect the integration of AI-enabled assessment tools to impact the recruitment process across four main dimensions: acting as an assisting element, challenging employer branding, altering the HR role, and generating accountability challenges. This instigates a discussion outlining considerations from HR recruiters' perspectives, serving as a valuable roadmap guiding the future development of AI tools for candidate assessment.
