Exploring Youth Perspectives on Climate Preparedness Across Europe : Implications for EU Governance

This thesis explores how young people across the European Union understand and experience climate preparedness in relation to the new EU Preparedness Union Strategy. Drawing on feminist disaster studies and intersectional approaches, it examines preparedness not as a fixed individual capacity, but as something shaped through unequal social and institutional conditions. The study is based on an exploratory online survey conducted with 243 young people aged 18–30 across all 27 EU Member States, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis.
