Sammanfattning
This study aims to understand how work towards equality and diversity within trade unions represents different problems that need to be overcome in order to reach gender equality and equality overall. Swedish trade unions play an important part in writing the collective agreements between workers and employers, and therefore play an important part in equality within the field and our society as a whole. Through a poststructural policy analysis, WPR, this study analyses two documents from the Swedish trade unions Handels and IF Metall through the questions: “What’s the problem?”, “What assumptions underlie the problems representation?” and “What is left unproblematic?”. The documents are shown to, while sharing a common ontology and values, leave out important factors as to why specifically women are excluded from fiduciary duties within the trade unions.
