The purpose of the study is to examine, through thematic analysis, how wind power is presented in letter to the editor and which factors are expressed to influence attitudes towards wind power establishment. The method for this study is a qualitative approach by doing a thematic analysis from different newspapers by collecting letter to the editor. The letter to the editor has been found by using word like “wind power”, “Sweden” and “letter to the editor”. A filter has been used as well with “printed press” and the years 2025-2026 has been selected. The articles have been chosen from different smaller and local newspapers in Sweden. This gave the study a good geographical spread and different perspectives. This result shows that the underlying factors behind wind power can vary a lot and that the local resistance is strong. People are arguing that wind power has a lot of consequences on the environment and people’s health. There are also arguments that financial contributions matter for the municipality and the people’s attitude. Mostly of the attitudes that has been identified have been negative. Although there are people that think that the population needs to take responsibility for the green transition.
